Like a Rainbow: A color ode to joy, diversity and harmony between colors!

There are two problems in painting. One is to find out what painting is and the other is to find out how to make a painting. The first is learning something and the second is making something.

‘‘DE JOY MODE”

This Random color dice-dala is a positive and joyful modest homage to key values of respect and tolerance of diversity. It invite us to question our own prejudice, starting with the ones we have when we decide about colors and their combinations, and all aesthetic decisions we make from the moment we choose our clothes to wear, to to the moment we go to bed. And also an invitation to think about the role of what we call” chance” to stray away from our own routines and mindsets, to see there can be other possibilities, we would have never considered, if we had not surrendered in this color game of painting and chance, to the rule of the die. How can all colors live together in spite of their different values and intensities. In the en as Francis Bacon said: “All colors agree in the dark” . And Billy Idol yelled: “do not stand in the shadows!“‘. So before we turn of the lights, we better enjoy to see how the dance and vibrate in a crazy energetic way, thanks to their strong differences and contrasts. Let’s embrace all the positive violence and power color has to offer, and the surprising combinations chance will reward us with, after surrendering part of our power to the real author of this painting, the dice.

the rules of the game? the process:

The ten colors of the expanded diversity rainbow flag where mixed. Mixing those 10 colors, 190 more colors were mixed. 20 of those 190 colors were selected randomly by the hands of Juan Alejandro Oramas and Betty Bonilla. A 30 sided die was picked by Nicolas Sanin. Every number of the die was assigned to one of the 30 colors of the rainbow pallet. The die was rolled 170 times by Nathier Fernández( Talented multimedia artist) Each resulting number was then marked on each space of the Penrose pattern surface grid. After hours of music, many cups of coffee and tea, sweat and tears(of joy) the painting was completed.

Number 5 is the one that got luckiest in this Rainbow -like Color Universe! it was rolled 10 tIMES.

The Master and servant of dice, at your service! lol
